Your privacy is critically important to us. At Chanticleer Book Reviews, a division of Delta Latitude, L.L.C., we have a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.

(“Delta Latitude”) operates several websites including chantireviews.com, theroost.chantireviews.com and deltalatitude.com. It is Delta Latitude’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Submitted Books/Manuscripts

We know that you put a lot of time, effort, and work into your book. Delta Latitude will only distribute your book or manuscript as needed to write a review or the Chanticleer International Book Awards judging rounds, or for requested editorial services. If you submit a printed version of the material then you can request that the material be returned (You must pay postage and handling.) or destroyed. If you wish to have the material returned, you must supply a self-addressed stamped envelope/box (SASE) when you submit your printed copy. CBR maintains the right to retain one copy of the reviewed work for our library of reviews as is the practice of professional review services and all others will be destroyed or returned as per the author’s/publisher’ s request. You, as the author, retain all rights to the manuscript. After Chanticleer Book Reviews completes a paid book review and delivers it to the author, there is a 72 hour period in which the author may decide that he/she does not want the review published on the CBR site.  This decision must be conveyed in an email to the Chanticleer editor who sent the review (email is preferred).  If CBR does not hear anything from the author/publisher within 72 hours of contact, the review will be published on our site, and posted and distributed to various third party review sites and social media platforms. The review may also be placed in the Chanticleer Reviews magazine. The author may republish the review as long as they provide credit to Chanticleer Book Reviews or CBR. If the review is placed online, attribution to Chanticleer Reviews is required and with a link is appreciated.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Delta Latitude collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Delta Latitude’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Delta Latitude’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Delta Latitude may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website. Delta Latitude also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on chantireviews.com blogs. Delta Latitude only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Delta Latitude’s websites choose to interact with Delta Latitude in ways that require Delta Latitude to gather personally-identifying information. Aggregated Statistics

Delta Latitude may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Delta Latitude may monitor the most popular books on the chantireviews.com site. Delta Latitude may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Delta Latitude does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Delta Latitude discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Delta Latitude’s behalf or to provide services available at Delta Latitude’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others.
